Before meeting with Darren at StarLight Meds it’s helpful to know these details: date, place, and time—for any event or period of reference to discuss. This is common for new Astrological clientele, but please note, it is not a requirement. The data is best for precise analysis, but deep Soul ‘work’ lies in the Heart; the motion of the Stars are simply a reflection of that Mystery. There are other charting methods that can be performed based on personal Awareness (where Answers always exist and silently guide us).

Regarding methodology, my readings contain standard elements from both Eastern and Western Astrology. The difference between the two is that each bases their calculations on different views of the Sky. If this sounds confusing, it is; ‘The Precession of the Equinoxes’ is to blame. You can look that term up, or see my Journal entries for further commentary, but it is basically an astronomical perspective — related to the Earth’s movement against the Fixed Stars — that over a long period of time has created two different calendar reference points related to the Equinoxes. I use the Sidereal (Eastern) calendar and, furthermore, apply the Whole House system when creating a chart. This is the typical foundation for ancient Astrological methodology; it has been in use since the beginning of human civilization. There are complications, but, essentially, this is the original method of practicing Astrology. Everything else is simply messing with Grandma’s recipe for soup Stock: it might taste good after a little tweaking, but it is still off Base.

While I use the calendar system described above, other elements of both traditional systems that I respect include the understanding of the 27 Moon Phases (or Faces), called ‘Nakshatras’ in Vedic Astrology; as a musician, the understanding of chart harmonics (degree resonance) as commonly applied from the Vedic school (as 9th degree charting) flows together. Furthermore, in the East, Trans-Saturnian planets are still not typically discussed due to their relatively recent discovery (late 18th-century onward) where their insights are revealed via the Moon Nodes (Rahu-Ketu); in the West (and in my practice) they are dutifully accounted for. The common usage of the Tropical (Western) ‘wheel’ is my preferred chart ‘presentation’. Other methodolgies include charting the 90-degree system, consideration for certain Asteroids and dwarf-Planets, and the championing of Sirius as our Sun’s binary companion — an incredible oversight by most humans, let alone Astrologers and Astronomers of our Age.

My analysis is more than an analytic reading of gross systematic components; my abilities fly with inspired insight to Energy’s subtle, varying degrees of balance, color and weight upon a person’s Soul. I pride myself not on my interpretative abilities but on the mysterious, synchronistic path of Goodness, Wisdom, and Wonder which I’ve walked with dedication all my Days. Inspiration is tangible and my practice can be as helpful as you need it to be in triumphing over ignorance. Karma and Miracles are beyond ‘scientific’ measure, but they are quite Real nonetheless.

In the end, everyone should have a good Astrologer, and in the coming years, many people will undoubtedly consult at least one. No matter what Calendar, House System, or interpretation methodologies are used, there are Signs all around. Just as there are charlatans, deceivers and fools who will take your time, trust, and resources — there are Guides, Healers, and Magical Messengers who abound in Help for Goodness sake.

Astrology will reveal Truth, but it takes more than ‘seeking’ — it takes ‘finding’. You must have Faith to take your deep plunge and dismiss the common disbelievers and naysayers of the World. We are Dawning a New Age — as the Stars have Lawed for Aeons.
